Life is about Relationships
I met Charles and Michelle when we had established our first Live Like Water Teahouse on East 11th. At that time they were working down the street at Ampro School of Photography. That was the begging of our long friendship. Over the years they have helped me transform my shoebox of negatives into positive images. It was Charles who printed our first postcards. Later, we all flowed in our different directions; I back to Korea and they to the shores of the Sunshine Coast. When I returned, they provided me with a port of call and dock to which I could tie my sailing vessel. Once I had settled the tearoom in that tiny Hopkins landing cabin, we got busy creating more images. We have all worked extremely hard with the spirit of our ancestors from the old country pumping through our veins, especially during these very difficult and challenging times. And we continue with great determination, resourcefulness and creativity, because there is nobody to help us, we only have ourselves and our success depends on how much we pull together and help one another. These people have helped me a great deal, and I am so very, very thankful. Now that they, Charles, Michelle and her brother Chris, have their own Photography Shop in Wilson Creek, I think of them often, and support their endeavors with all my heart. Keep the steep my friends and steep the tea! Love Michael

• David Lane
David Lane was part of the first tearoom that we built in Vancouver. Over the years a strong friendship has taken root amongst us. We have seen each other grow as we have journeyed through life, working on fine-tuning our crafts and special gifts: becoming more and more the people we were meant to be in this lifetime. I have seen David’s work grow over the years, have seen him work very diligently and with great persistence. Each stroke has improved and it gladdens my heart to watch and see this magical process take place. Take a walk through David’s Lane of art and enjoy some of the sketches we have chosen to show you here on this page.
Yes this is me turning the other cheek. Since moving to Vancouver and opening our tea shop in Chinatown I've taken to dropping my drawers for art in order to help pay the rent. As a result, I've inspired many artists and students with my dynamic posing. So if I look somewhat familiar, and you think you've seem me somewhere before it may very well be; perhaps you've seen me doing a tea demonstration, or on the podium or even hanging in a gallery or museum baring my other profile: and that's the naked truth!
